Game Grid

To play Game Grid:

1. connect your smartphone’s wifi to the network ‘game grid’ (password: gamegrid)
2. Open a browser window and connect to gg.com

Game Grid is an outdoor social gaming platform played on a giant three-screen installation in the round. It is a dynamic social and physical video game that requires players to move around the installation and physically interact with other players. Numerous players can play Game Grid simultaneously, but the game is also engaging for as few as two participants going head to head. Game play is retro and draws inspiration from classic arcades of the 1980s and 1990s. Participants control Game Grid via a web page accessed on their smart phones. A special app is not required to play.

John Kim is a new media artist and theorist, who has published widely on new media and exhibited art internationally.

Ben Moren is a media artist working on projects that investigate the gaps between our increasingly digital existence and the unmediated natural world through the intersection of filmmaking, performance, and software / hardware development.

Derek Anderson is a freestyle web developer with a focus on realtime communication, interaction and experience design.
