Ready to experience Big expansive bobbing quiet? This and more are awaiting you in two exhibitions featured in MCAD Gallery. Check out the book titled Big expansive bobbing quiet as well as another 35+ books and book-related projects highlighted in the first-floor show Topographies. These alumni-made books run the gamut in terms of look, content, and size—from handmade books to photographic projects to interactive maps to tiny zines. Despite their diversity they all serve as topographies of a space, imagined and made tactile in the hands of the artist, that also become topographic when installed in a space. And put your own imagination to work by helping create a really big accordion book on Amanda Lovelee’s Really Big Table, which is an accordion book to boot!

Books not your thing? Are you more of the digitally engaged persuasion? Then head upstairs to the second floor where animations, videos, photographs and other digital media take center stage in Raster, Vector, Vexel. This juried show features artwork by MCAD Continuing Education students and faculty.

Made possible thanks to the MCAD Library Artist Book Collection and Continuing Education.

Joint reception: 7:00-9:00 p.m.

Francesca Garcia, Nathan Lewis, Kerry Morgan, Lara Roy, Kay Kroeff-Streng.
